If you've ever had insomnia, you know it's not fun. A new YouTube trend called "sleep whispering" aims to help relax you to sleep. A growing number of the videos are popping up online and feature a person whispering slowly and softly, usually while doing some other soothing activity such as lightly tapping on cardboard boxes, or quietly rustling plastic. The sounds are meant to trigger a tingling sensation in the body that researchers called ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). One YouTube user who creates these videos says, "Personally, I think that watching videos is a lot better than taking pills and getting that in your system. You create a calm, serene environment. Even I relax when I do it." Many YouTube viewers comment that the videos work, while others say they're just boring. (Daily Mail)
