Proud mother: Olivia Wilde breastfeeds her son in this new shoot for Glamour magazine

August 6, 2014 -

My little girl turns 7 today.  One of the most rewarding experiences of my life was breastfeeding/nursing her.  I was nervous about doing it at first.  Just as Olivia Wilde (actress, "House" & "Tron") found out, though, "it's the most natural thing".

Olivia has allowed Glamour magazine to highlight her experience in photos and she also talks about it in the new issue.  Click HERE for more photos and to read more Olivia's take on nursing and mommyhood...

I will say that when I nursed, Isabella always wore a diaper.  I wasn't taking any chances, lol!

OLIVIA WILDE BREASTFEEDS IN NEW PHOTO SHOOT - (08/06/2014)

Olivia Wilde posed for a photo shoot in the new issue of Glamour magazine as she was breastfeeding her three-month-old son, Otis Alexander.

The actress discusses the idea for the shoot for the cover story saying, "You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed. But I mean, I certainly don't really look like that when I'm typically breastfeeding. And there's usually a diaper involved. Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that." Olivia adds, "Breastfeeding is the most natural thing. I don't know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast. It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing -- that we know we can be."

  • The 30-year-old also offers an update on her engagement to Jason Sudeikis saying, "We're engaged, but no specific wedding plans yet -- we just have to find the time to put it together. In many ways, a child is more of a commitment. We are fully committed and really happy as a family. There's no definition of the 'normal family' anymore. Kids today are growing up with so many different definitions of family. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't feel any pressure to do it. But I think it will be really fun."
