How long would you prefer a movie be?

This summer’s superhero movies Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and X-Men: Days of Future Past clock in at an average of 137 minutes each.

This is actually becoming the norm for all blockbusters.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is 130 minutes, and Transformers: Ages of Extinction is 165 minutes.

Jim Slotek of the Toronto Sun recently wrote, “This cinematic bloating is totally unnecessary. It’s one of the paradoxes of our age. As attention spans get shorter—movies get longer.”

Guardians of the Galaxy, which has already earned upwards of 94 million dollars, clocks in at 121 minutes. (Yahoo)
