Andi Marie Drescher is trying to make a difference and get South Effingham High School to honor the memory of two seniors who passed away by announcing their names at graduation.

Drescher says, "I am trying to help two families that have children who have died in the past year and they want to have their names announced at graduation and get their diplomas. Their names are Halie McKirgan and Lacey Longworth. The famlies have tried calling the school and asking for them to do something and they aren't responding to them. I know other schools in the area will leave an empty seat at graduation with a sash with their name on it and a 8x10 picture in the seat and announce them as well as give the family their diplomas." You can sign the petition to have Halie and Lacey's names read at graduation below:"

Here's what you'll see on the petition:

Petition Background (Preamble):

The Halie McKirgan Act will enforce change for all school systems. We believe that any student that is enrolled in high school and has a passing average should be recognized on graduation day.

Effingham County High School puts out a chair and places a photo of the student with a sash and their name on it for those to be recognized at Graduation, why can't we do the same.
