US Coast Guard Captain John Reed Explains the Rescue Aboard the Cargo Ship

This remarkable work by the United States Coast Guard is nothing less than mind-boggling to most of us but for them it's "just another day at the office!" When they say. "When things are at their worst, we're at our best" is more than just a slogan. Heroes all and I'm overwhelmed as usual. Several years ago they rescued a family in Charleston that was lost on the ocean off the South Carolina coast finding them about 3:00 in the morning on a dark sea where if you blinked you could have flown right over them. Before that they saved the lives of most the crew of the reconstructed HMS Bounty including the daughter of one of our then-Savannah City Alderwoman off the North Carolina coast when it was sinking in a HURRICANE! All in a day's work? PUH-LEEZE!!! The men and women of the USCG are genuine heroes in a day when we throw that word around a bit too often. Now this! I'm just amazed beyond words. Thank God for these dedicated folks and all of our fine military.
