Attorney General Criticized For Law Enforcement Remark

The Justice Department is defending Attorney General Jeff Sessions' use of the term "Anglo-American heritage."   Sessions made the comment yesterday during a speech to the National Sheriffs Association. A Justice Department spokesman pointed out that Anglo-American law is a common legal term to describe the shared legal heritage between England and America.  The term prompted some Democratic lawmakers to cry foul.  

Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii said he didn't see any purpose behind the term other than to pit Americans against each other.
