Starbucks To Require All Customers To Wear Masks

Starbucks announced that starting on July 15, all customers will be required to wear masks while inside their coffee shops. Customers who are not wearing masks will still be able to order from the drive-thru, or schedule a curbside pickup or delivery.

The mandate will apply to all company-owned locations, including ones in cities and states that have not issued a mandate for people to wear masks in public. Currently, nearly two dozen states and Washington, D.C., have issued orders requiring people to wear masks.

All Starbucks employees have been required to wear masks since April. The coffee chain has also enacted new social distancing guidelines, along with new sanitation and cleaning protocols, to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

"The company is committed to playing a constructive role in supporting health and government officials as they work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19," Starbucks said in a statement.
