When I raised my right hand to take the oath as an officer in the United States Army all those years ago, the one portion of the oath that stands out is..."I shall defend my country against all enemies both foreign and domestic." (my emphasis). And in these days it's the domestic enemies I'm worried about. Someone(s) warned us years ago that unlike Rome, America would not be defeated from outside forces but from within and that's exactly what we are witnessing now and it's chilling. Ever since Donald Trump was elected (and even a bit before) we have been overwhelmed with stories about Russian collusion between the Trump campaign and Vladimir and the gang in the former Soviet Union. Paying absolutely no attention--except those of us in EVIL conservative talk radio and sometimes Fox--to the Hildabeast and her confederates who financed this hoax in the first place.
The so-called "Deep State" we're now finding is a lot deeper than we first thought. It goes back further than World War II but it really came to fruition just afterward with the monumental destruction of Senator Joe McCarthy (R-Wisconsin) who dared to look into allegations from a State Department official "whistle blower" who wrote a very long memo of all the corruption and Communists in the department who were on the payroll of Washington and Moscow. When McCarthy began looking into it, he was roundly cheered by the general public but excoriated by the media. So much so that we now have a term associating his name with bogus witch hunts--McCarthyism. He has been quite literally blacklisted by history. The irony? Joe McCarthy was right! But that's for another time. You're welcome to order and read, "Blacklisted by History" by the late-great Stan Evans--prepare for your mind to be blown!
For the last two years and more, the media en mass have been trying to destroy Donald Trump via the same route except they now have social media as yet another tool. Trump campaigned on the platform of "draining the swamp" and as the old saying goes, "When you're up to your butt in alligators it's hard to keep in mind that your initial desire was to drain the swamp." Well, the President is way up past his eyeballs and is not below periscope depth in alligators from the "deep state." Because he's destroying a lot of fifedoms and uncovering the corruption and overspending they are trying to discredit and destroy him. What's worse, he's having to fight his own party in many cases who still don't get the importance and significance of the 2016 election.
Google, Facebook, Apple, Twitter, fill-in-the-blank social media services have more power and influence than ever imagined in one place. Run by left-wing loons they have a hate for the President that is visceral. We've gotten wind of statements from these CEOs and other top executives at these institutions that they intend to "overthrow" President Trump in the 2020 election and they're not being too secretive about it either. One would think that Congress would be concerned and the media outraged. BUT NOOOOOOO!!! What do we hear from the lamestream media? CRICKETS! This is terrifying on so many levels they're too numerous to count. These folks have your passwords, can read your email and see ANYTHING you do on your computer or phone. And with the modern technology now, they can listen to you on your phone whether it's on or not! Have an "Alexa" don't think the company isn't listening to you via that device or through your "smart" television set. They can block your content if they don't like your conservative bent.
They are also doing everything in their power--and more--to stop anyone or any institution from starting a conservative competitor. How scary is that? We don't seem to be too concerned as a society because we've been numbed into compliance. We think nothing for posting something on our pages about where we are and what we're doing letting about a billion of our closest friends to know it. This has to stop and usually I would say Congress needs to act but they are slower than a snail on "weed." Our best bet is to be aware and keep fighting for common sense to prevail. I'm open for suggestions.
