Huge THANK YOU to the Garden City Branch of the Live Oak Public Libraries and Children's Librarian Maryann Brickey for putting on this program! Also, thanks to the Society of Women Engineers and SWE's Whitney Hold for helping to teach the "Lego Robot Dance Academy" over the past few months and for being a wonderful inspiration for the students! And, it was FREE :-)
Over the span of the course, 8 teams of 2 built their Lego Mindstorm robots, learned how to code them, picked out music, choreographed a "robot dance", decorated them and put on a show. Great job, kids!
I would leave my job in Garden City, drive to Midway to pick-up Isabella from school, go home for an hour, then drive back to Garden City each Monday afternoon for this 8-week program because my daughter Isabella really took to the Lego Mindstorm robots last year at school. Thank you Liberty Elementary School and Isabella's 3rd-grade teacher Mrs. Boucher for getting this great technology into the hands and minds of kids, especially mine! ;-)
