Truth is stranger than fiction, except when they resemble each other too much. Robin Wright is none too pleased with President Donald Trump, she tells Variety (but not for the reasons you may suspect).
Wright tells Variety that the fifth season of House of Cards is done, but that writers are struggling over plots for the season 6. “Trump has stolen all of our ideas for season 6,” Wright told the magazine at the Cannes Film Festival.
- In the hit Netflix show, Wright plays Claire Underwood, the ruthless of wife of President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey). Several plots that have already played out would seem suspiciously too close to life today, like the Russia-themed season featuring a Putin-like leader.
- Wright also opened up about behind-the-scenes salary negotiations with Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson in Net-A-Porter’s digital fashion magazine The Edit. Regarding her demand for equal pay on the set she said she wasn’t nervous “for a second.” (She had been told that she made the same as co-star Kevin Spacey, but then found out he made more ... until she piped up).
- Season 5 of House of Cards returns to Netflix May 30th. Will you tune in?
