WATCH: Blake Shelton's Prison Escape Song/Video

Way back when, before Blake Shelton became famous, he came to the radio station in Savannah where I worked and played us his debut single.  Just Blake and his black guitar.  It was great!  We asked him to sing another one and he chose this, Ol' Red.  I thought it was even better than the first song, which was the heartbreaker Austin!

All this week, following the case of the escaped Georgia inmates, I kept hearing this song in my head.  LISTEN to it, ALL THE WAY THROUGH.  It's a story song with eerie similarities to this week's case.  And, it's just a good song...

The photo below was taken a few years into Blake Shelton's success, at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville 2005/06-ish.  We were at Blair Garner's Disco Party.  Blake stopped by to say "Hi", then asked us to watch his beer on the table while he performed.  There wasn't much left in the bottle and I didn't think he'd be back, so I kept my eye on the drink.  When Shelton didn't return for it, I emptied the bottle, put it in my purse and then gave it away on the radio when I got back to Savannah! LOL :-)
