SAVANNAH, GA – Fort Pulaski National Monument returns in time to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with you. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, join park staff and volunteers and have a blast at Savannah’s and Tybee Island’s National Park. An action packed day has been planned for the whole family to enjoy.
Explore historic Fort Pulaski with a park ranger or enjoy Cockspur Island on your own and hike along the Lighthouse Trail. There will be cannon demonstrations performed by staff and volunteers dressed as soldiers of the American Civil War. There will also be a special program on baseball and Fort Pulaski. Learn about America’s national pastime and its role at Fort Pulaski with a special interactive program at 11:30 a.m. Feel like taking batting practice? You’ll have your chance. There will also be children’s activities available inside the fort.
