Savannah Fire extinguishes blaze at The Olde Pink House Restaurant

SAVANNAH, GA (Thursday, December 27, 2018) – At 9:36 a.m. Thursday, December 27, Savannah Fire was dispatched to a fire at The Olde Pink House Restaurant, located at 23 Abercorn St. Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes at 9:38 a.m. and discovered heavy smoke and fire streaming from the second floor ballroom. Employees who were in the restaurant at the time of the fire escaped on their own. One employee escaped through a second story window. Her co-workers used a ladder to help her to the ground.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze primarily to the second floor ballroom. However the entire second floor suffered heavy smoke damage and there was water damage throughout the building. Power to the structure was cut. The restaurant was closed until the damage is mitigated and Health Department clearance is issued. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
