1/4/2018 - My (fraternal) twin sister sent me a story link this week, a very special story link. That's because it featured a war veteran reunited with the dog he rescued as a puppy in Syria. And the dog, as a puppy, looked just like our late dog Bailey! Bailey owned our hearts for 17 years in life and his memory is something we cherish. Losing him was hard. I cried almost every day for a year.
Since we got Bailey in 1995, my sister and I had NEVER seen another dog that looked so much like Bailey. Never! When I watched the video of the soldier and the puppy, my eyes welled-up. For a moment, I thought I was watching Bailey. I pray that this soldier's dog gives him as much love as Bailey gave us, and is as smart and fun as Bailey was.
Below is the first video I saw of the story, followed by pics of Bailey, and then another story with the soldier and his dog Barrie. Bailey, Barrie - hmmm...
By the way, Bailey was 1/2 spitz (American Eskimo) and 1/2 basset hound. I wonder what dog breeds make up Barrie?
PS: Here's Barrie's instagram page, where you can see more pics of the sweetie.
