4/4/2019 - The American Meteor Society (AMS) received 434 reports about a meteor fireball that appeared green and was seen over Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia this morning around 6:50am.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that scientists aren't quite sure the green streak was a meteor. David Dundee, an astronomer at the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, said NASA scientists are trying to figure out if the object is natural or man-made. They say it was moving at 9km/second, which "is the borderline between the speed at which either a natural or man-made object would move."
11Alive tweeted that It "was only visible for 11 seconds, traveling at 31,000 MPH."
