Linzan-Salmeron Family: Shop With A Cop 2022

NewsRadio Savannah and our sponsor The Dewitt Tilton Group introduces you to the Armitage family and their Ronald McDonald House Of The Coastal Empire experience:

It's been a roller coaster of a journey but nonetheless an absolute blessing in disguise. Our journey started at our prenatal office visit a few months into our pregnancy. The doctor had mentioned to My husband and I that we had a "high probability" of having a child with Down syndrome. Receiving this news felt like our world had shattered into a million pieces. As all parents, all we wanted was to have a healthy baby.
I had three scares throughout my pregnancy. I had covid twice & I fell at work. I could not catch a break! One thing we knew for sure was that our little girl was a fighter! These are the moments that we knew God was sending us a message. If we were to make it through covid twice and a fall, God wanted this little girl here. She has a purpose! We fell hard but our faith got us back up and stronger than ever, hence, Lilliana's middle name, Faith.
On January 24, 2022 Lilliana Faith was born. With the first cry came an instant indescribable love. A love that overshadowed her diagnosis and everything that I had endured during my pregnancy. It was not long after birth that Lilly had to be taken to the NICU. Lilly's NICU stay lasted 63 days. 63 LONG days & nights. 63 days that I had not been home even after My husband had returned back to work. Thankfully the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) was able to accommodate my husband and I. It was during my time in the NICU and the RMH that we realized that God had never left our side.
The RMH means so much to my family, that words fall short to begin to describe our experience and gratitude we have towards this organization. A place we called home for 63 days, that welcomed us with open arms. A place where families, like us, did not have to worry about a thing. The RMH made sure your sole focus and worry was being there for your loved one and always checked in to see how things were going. Skyler & Megan were there for our highs and ours lows, especially days we could not manage anymore and had our breakdowns. Megan & Skyler were amazing but lets not forget sweet Willow, the house therapy dog. She would greet us at the door & gave the best cuddles. They were our go to when we needed that sense of comfort when we did not have family around due to Covid restrictions. Fast forward to today, Lilly continues to amaze us. She has gone through two surgeries. The most recent surgery being open heart surgery in Atlanta, where we had the opportunity to stay at the Egleston RMH.
Our journey may not be what we initially hoped for or wanted but nonetheless we have been blessed with much more than we ever could imagine. We will forever be grateful for the RMH charities. Thank you to all who contribute in making this charity so amazing for families. We are thankful, grateful and blessed to be able to share our story.
