A 41-year-old pregnant woman lost her unborn child after she and her husband were brutally attacked by a gang of teenagers on the streets of Chicago.
The woman and her husband were walking home after a night out in the city's Streeterville neighborhood when a group of at least ten people surrounded them.
"They didn't steal anything. They say like, 'We own the street. We own the street. You can't walk around.' I was wearing like a nice dress and heels. Like I was out on the date with my husband, and they dragged my dress on the ground, and they said, like, 'we own the street. You can't just walk around prancing in your little dress.' And they were saying things that just didn't make any sense to me because they don't know me personally," the woman told WFLD.
She told the news station that she was pepper sprayed, kicked in the stomach, and lost a chunk of her hair in the attack. Her husband tried to fight back, but the group held him down while his wife was beaten.
Police arrived and took two people, a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, into custody. They were each charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and released.
