Stellantis is recalling over 300,000 Ram Heavy Duty pickup trucks due to a defect in the braking system. The recall affects the 2017-2018 models of Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 trucks. The issue lies in the hydraulic control unit, which could cause the anti-lock brake, electronic stability control, and traction control systems to malfunction. However, regular braking systems remain unaffected, and no injuries have been reported related to this defect.

The recall involves a total of 317,630 trucks, with some located in Canada, Mexico, and other countries. Stellantis will notify affected customers about when they can receive free repairs. Customers with questions can contact the company at 1-800-853-1403.

This recall is part of a series of safety-related actions by Stellantis. Last month, the company recalled 207,000 Jeep and Dodge SUVs in the U.S. for a computer issue that could disable safety features. In September, nearly 1.5 million Ram pickups were recalled globally for a software problem affecting the electronic stability control system.

You can check to see if your car is under recall by going to nhtsa.gov/recalls and entering your 17-digit vehicle identification number.
