Summer is nearly here, a season of sunny days, warm breezes and long-awaited breaks from school, work and everyday life. If you are still figuring out where you would want to go for a weekend getaway or lengthy vacation, you can take a cue from a report that lists one Georgia destination among the best places for a summer vacay.
AAA compiled a list of some of the "best summer vacation spots" for 2025, the destinations that would serve as the perfect getaway with family, friends or even for solo travel. Among the list is one spot in Georgia: Tybee Island.
According to the site, Tybee Island is one of the best places in the country to visit for a memorable summer escape. Not only does it have beaches perfect for soaking in the sun, but there are attractions and restaurants that will surely impress any visitor. Some suggested activities to partake in during your visit include a historic tour of the area or a bike tour of the island or even catching a wave in a surf lesson.
Here's what AAA had to say about this popular travel destination:
"A barrier island near Savannah, GA, Tybee Island is a great place to spend your summer vacation. In addition to lounging on the beach and partaking in water sports, you can also visit historical sites such as the Tybee Island Light Station and Museum and Fort Pulaski National Monument."
