Question for you: Do you think General Electric, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Starbucks or (name a big successful company here) could have been organized, grown and prospered in another country? Wouldn't you think with all the success and revenue generated by these companies you would conclude they would be grateful, loyal and proud... Red, White and Blue through and through right? Unfortunately that's not the case. These ingrates have closed up shop in the good ol' USA and moved to Mexico, China, Japan, South Korea, Viet Nam and some African country you've never heard of. Part of it, of course, is our own fault with too many taxes and too much government interference that it became almost impossible to make a profit and they had to move out of the very country that gave them birth in the first place. In many cases they had to move to stay in business, it was not, as the left wants you to believe, "corporate greed." Corporate greed is a myth. If you don't think most people don't understand the free enterprise system, just ask someone when the difference is between a profit and a profit margin and watch their reaction. When Donald Trump touted bringing manufacturing jobs back if elected he was mocked by the likes of none other than Barack Obama. Obama and his willing accomplices in the media told us those jobs were never coming back. "What's he going to do," asked, "wave a magic wand?" Obama's uneducated audience laughed. But Barack is a socialist at best and Communist at worst--after all he was raised by a Communist--he told us that in his autobiography. He said he loved socialism and sought out the liberal, socialist and Communist professors on the campuses where he attended college and he didn't have to do much seeking. But Trump is not a politician, he's a businessman--a very successful one who understands economics and effective negotiations. Get rid of so much corporate tax (companies don't pay taxes--PEOPLE pay taxes) and get rid of overwhelming regulations that stunt or destroy corporate growth. He did once in office and, like a "magic wand" corporations began coming back on shore, more people were being hired as businesses expanded and, because of competition, wages began going up for the first time in almost 30 years. It would be even greater if we eliminated corporate taxes altogether but we'll save that argument for another day. You can hardly see a store or company now that doesn't have a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. Parker's Convenience Stores here recently was in such dire need of more employees they were offering a $1,000 signing bonus.
Unfortunately, many of these American corporations don't seem to understand that America is where their loyalties should lie. When Bill Clinton was President (unfortunately) he convinced us that it was okay to sell our most advanced and sophisticated computers to China. He was warned this was not a good idea, but the Chinese convinced him and others in power that they needed them for "weather forecasting" not military purposes. None of these geniuses seemed to realize that those computers could be used for other than weather forecasts. Chinese missile technology lagged way behind ours. When they fired one of their missiles the safest place to be was the target! While I know it's just a coincidence, but not too long after the Chinese got their weather-forecasting computers their missiles somehow improved dramatically, they were actually falling on the intended target. For awhile, the Pentagon started buying soldiers' boots from China! Once that word got out there was public outrage. Another great idea from the Pentagon was buying Japanese-manufactured radios for our fighter jets and fortunately that idea got squashed too. Just how stupid are we? At least Coca Cola told India to "stick it where the sun don't shine" when that country insisted that if Coke was going to set up a bottling plant there they would have to give up the secret Coke formula. Perhaps Coke had learned its lesson from their "brilliant" New Coke disaster. But especially in China the Chinese government--and make no mistake they are Communist to the core and not our friend--insists that any company that establishes a manufacturing facility there have to give them that company's technical information. Once they have that they can reverse-engineer those products, begin manufacturing them themselves and run said corporation out of business. It's the very reason that we have warned the United Kingdom not to switch to the Chinese communication giant Huawei. Apparently Huawei is way ahead of the rest of the world in developing 5K communication technology and we have even tried to get them to set up shop here too. The Chinese assured us that they wouldn't be able to spy on those countries who equipped themselves with Huawei's products but as I recall they told us they were going to use our computers for weather forecasting too, remember that???
American companies need to remember where their bread is buttered unless they want us to be TOAST!
