Briley-Spires Family: Shop With A Cop 2023

NewsRadio Savannah and our sponsor The Dewitt Tilton Group introduces you to the Briley-Spires family and their Ronald McDonald House Of The Coastal Empire experience:

October 2022, I found out I was pregnant. We were so excited! November came and it was time to see our little peanut. We get to my appointment and get started with the ultrasound. Not long into the ultrasound she says and theirs TWO I said TWO WHAT she then says your having TWINS I then started crying I couldn't believe it! We also found out that my pregnancy was high risk "Mo Di" Twins. They scheduled an appointment with the high-risk OB in Savannah, Ga which was almost three hours from where we lived. We began traveling back and forth to Savannah well due to the high risk I got put into the hospital March 7th of 2023 I stayed there for almost two months I was blessed to have met so many amazing people on that high-risk floor.
On April 15th, my son and husband were on the way to see me for his birthday when my husband got the call saying his granny passed. I was heartbroken that all this was going on and I couldn’t be there for my husband. That next week, doctors saw a membrane that looked to be intake and I was able to go home. I truly believe God did that cause he knew my family needed me. I was over the moon excited to be home. Around six the next morning my husband got the call that his papa had passed away. My heart broke for him losing his granny and papa ten days apart.
Not long after all of this on the night of May 23rd my water broke, I ended up having my twins Eli and Eric at 2:06pm and 2:07pm they were doing good to be born at 34 weeks and 4 days they ended up being put in the NICU with Eli going home before Eric "Myles". Eric was having some troubles, but the doctors found out he has Biliary Atresia which is a rare liver disease. I had no clue what was going to happen, all knew is in that moment I knew I didn’t want my baby to hurt.
On July 6th, Eric had a major surgery called the Kasai procedure he spent a total of 58 days in the NICU. We stayed a part of that in the Ronald McDonald House, they were such a blessing. I don't know what I would have done without them, they were all kind to us and helped with anything we needed. The hospital gave us three months to see if the surgery worked, well it’s going on four months and it’s looking like the surgery did not work, doesn’t mean the doctor did anything wrong it just didn’t work for my son. Now we are trying to get his weight up so that when the time comes for my baby to get a liver transplant, he will be big enough and healthy enough. He is so strong and has faced so much in his short time here on earth already we have been admitted into the hospital three times already no less than three nights each time. God is so good though cause my baby is still here fighting and not giving up and nor am I.
