Salmeron Family: Shop With A Cop 2024

NewsRadio Savannah and our sponsors The Dewitt Tilton Group and Express Employment introduces you to the Salmeron family and their Ronald McDonald House Of The Coastal Empire experience:

During the holidays, my family and I reflect on our blessings and the challenges we’ve faced. Two years ago, a phone call from my OB changed everything: my genetic testing revealed a high probability that our baby would have Down Syndrome. In that moment, fear and uncertainty overwhelmed us, but we didn't realize that this experience would lead to one of the greatest blessings of our life.
My daughter, Lilliana, or Lilly as we call her, went straight to the NICU at birth and stayed there for 67 long days. During that time, we were incredibly grateful to have a room right across the street from Lilly at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire.
RMH became our home away from home. The staff felt like family. They listened to our fears, ensured we took care of ourselves, and provided comfort during our darkest times. They were always there for us, allowing us to focus on Lilly while knowing we had a safe place to rest, just steps away from her side.
Lilly was discharged from the NICU on oxygen and with a feeding tube, just two days before she turned five months. She needed open heart surgery, and we spent a week at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta, another blessing.
Today, Lilly is healthy and showing us the definition of a true fighter! She has graduated to seeing the cardiologist yearly, and is no longer on oxygen or a feeding tube. Currently, she is mastering the art of walking. Lily recently became a big sister and is loving on her sissy every chance she gets. Lilly has taught us as parents to always count our blessings. We are so thankful for every day, for Ronald McDonald House, for everyone supporting the House, and for being able to share our story with you all.
